About Paul Burton:

Paul got his first taste of producing and directing when he was a student at Melton College in Leicestershire. He subsequently stages shows including the musicals Little Shop of Horrors at The Y Theatre in Leicester. 

Between 1995 and 2000, Paul wrote, produced, directed and also appeared in drama and light entertainment programmes for a Leicester-based community television channel called Cable 7. The channel also broadcast programmes in Nottinghamshire and parts of the East Coast.

Then from 2001 until 2004, Paul wrote, produced and directed various short films that were shown at screenings he staged at the Phoenix Arts in Leicester.

The year 2008 saw Paul write and research The Morecambe and Wise Quiz Book, which was published by London-based JR Books. In addition to be sold at the usual outlets, copies of the book, which had a foreword by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, were sold at Bob Golding's one-man show, Morecambe, at the Duchess Theatre in London's West End. A selection of the questions were also added to the show's programme.

Also during 2008, Paul began writing, producing and directing short films which he made at Elstree Studios in north London. These included Dancing with Angels, which was commissioned by Eric Morecambe's son, Gary Morecambe. All of these films were screened on the channel Information TV.

In 2010, was engaged by the Elstree (Production) Company and the Greg Smith Estate to prepare Greg's archive in readiness for auction by Bonhams. During his career, who, was based at Elstree Studios before moving to Shepperton Studios, produced, film and television productions. 

The following year, Paul worked as a writer and researcher with Gary Morecambe and the Eric Morecambe Estate on the book Eric Morecambe: Lost and Found. The title, which included an introduction by Miranda Hart, was published by The Robson Press in 2012.
