The management of Elstree Studios asked Paul to write, produced, directed and research a documentary connected to their history in 2012. He chose to feature the writers Ray Galton and Alan Simpson. The short film, made with the co-operation of StudioCanal, documented the films that Ray and Alan worked on at Elstree Studios, including The Rebel, starring Tony Hancock, and The Bargee, starring Harry H. Corbett.
The same year also saw Paul begin work as a writer, researcher and archivist on projects relating to The Hippodrome Casino (formerly The Talk of the Town) in London. This included arranging for Lorna Luft, Judy Garland's daughter, to unveil a plaque in memory of her late mother, instigating plaques for Bruce Forsyth and Sammy Davis Jr. and interviewing Roy Hudd in the Hippodrome's cabaret theatre for videos relating to the history of the historic venue.
In 2014, Paul was commissioned by Elstree Studios and Michael O'Mara Books to write and research the official book on Elstree Studios, entitled Elstree Studios: A Celebration of Film and Television. The performers who Paul interviewed for the book included Annette Andre, Angela Douglas, Valerie Leon and Barbara Windsor. The publication, which featured an introduction by the Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper and 250 photos and stills, was launched at Elstree Studios in 2015.
In 2015, Paul returned to producing and directing for the stage. Since then, he has staged a total of 42 productions and 46 performances. These have been staged at venues in Cromer, Derby, Eastbourne, Great Yarmouth, Hornchurch, Leicester, London, Sheringham, Skegness, Swanage, Windsor and Yeovil. His charity shows have raised £17,866.05. The charities to have benefited are Acting for Others, The Actors' Church, LOROS, Marie Curie UK, Mind, RNLI Cromer, RNLI Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, RNLI Skegness, RNLI Swanage, The Royal Variety Charity and Tower Lifeboat Station.
Most notably, he has staged 20 productions and 23 performances of his popular Sunday at the Musicals charity concerts. Amongst the hundreds of performers that have taken part, the West End singers have included Sam Bailey, Brian Conley, Darren Day, Brenda Edwards, Kerry Ellis, Cassidy Janson, Trevor Dion Nicholas and Marti Webb. While the choirs he has worked with include Rock Choir and The Sing Space Choir.
Paul's other productions have included Marti Webb in Concert, which were staged at the Queen's Theatre in Hornchurch, the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil, and The Royal Hippodrome Theatre in Eastbourne, in 2016.
